Designed for professional cleaners of all levels. You will be shown how to identify the difference between wet-clean and dry-clean only fabrics with confidence. The CLEANtrust (formerly IICRC) is an international body that is owned by industry associations like the UK’s NCCA. They do not own or run schools and produce no training material. However, the CLEANtrust approves schools, the instructors and school manuals that meet their specific international standards. Anyone attending these approved schools has the option at the end of the school to take the CLEANtrust Certification Exam. Hands-On Tile & Grout Cleaning “Play Day” The SMT CLEANtrust school will teach you the theory behind cleaning hard floors…what this ‘Play Day’ gives you is hands-on practical experience. You will go through the process of reviewing floor types and the individual principles of identification you will also be taken through all the important health and safety aspects that you need to consider when hard floor cleaning. We clean and seal our own tile floor … as if you were doing the job yourself, and includes dealing with the customer, setting up, cleaning and packing away. Advanced Leather Cleaning School This is a special one-day advance leather cleaning school. It is always held the day prior to the Advanced Leather repair School so you can attend as a one-day cleaning or as three day complete Leather cleaning and repair school. It gives an in-depth look at professional care and maintenance of leather upholstery, which requires the development of specialist knowledge and skills, which will be provided in this course. You will be required to clean leather on the course … you may (with prior permission) bring along an item of leather upholstery to be cleaned. The school includes: • How leather is made, the tannery and finishing processes. • Identification of leather and the finishes applied to them. • Pre-inspection and identifying potential problems. • Dealing with customer expectations • Cleaning, stain removal, conditioning creams and protectors. Advanced Leather Repair School While leather is a beautiful natural product and is able to withstand a large amount of wear and tear … it can be easily scratched and ripped. Now you’ll have an opportunity to learn how you can repair leather with an almost invisible mend. This is a two-day leather repair course dealing with problems beyond the scope of cleaning. This course is mostly hands on to allow each delegate as much time as possible to practice and develop the skills required to carry out repairs to scuffs, scratches, cuts, holes, and burns. You may (with prior permission) bring along an item of leather upholstery that needs to be repaired and carry out the work as a demo in the school.
